You have heard of “buy local” but what if you just made things to your exact specifications yourself? Come learn to Make Local and tie flies with us.

Join Aggieland Fly Fishers on May 28th at 6pm to learn the Pike Fly technique. The Pike Fly is a highly malleable pattern which can be tailored to target most any predator fish anywhere in the world. The version we will be tying has been developed by one of our members to target Texas bass after one more rod tip breakage from a Clouser Minnow strike.

This fly fishes similarly to a Clouser but presents much less danger to rod blanks on the cast. This pattern also presents a larger profile which better imitates sunfish and shad. The version we’ll tie is both weighted and about as weedless as you can get. This fly might be the best imitation of a slow sinking jerkbait.

All of our tying sessions are intended for beginners and experienced tyers alike. We look forward to seeing you there!
